Elysha Clark Whitney
Elysha is a registered Provisional Psychologist, currently completing a Masters of Clinical Psychology through the University of Sydney. Elysha is also completing a PhD, exploring caregiver adjustment to their child's diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) among families enrolled in a parent training intervention targeting disruptive behaviour problems and caregiver-child interaction quality in ASD.
Elysha received a Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology (Honours) from New York University (NYU). While studying at NYU, Elysha was involved in research into parenting interventions for children with ADHD, as well as a school-based program targeting literacy and school-readiness in low-income Latine and African-American families.
Elysha has prior experience working with children with disruptive behaviour problems and their families at the University of Sydney Child Behaviour Research Clinic, and also as an NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner. Elysha currently works with families in the PCIT program across the UNSW Parent-Child Research Clinic and the PCIT school clinic at Condell Park PS. She is passionate about working with families to develop the skills and confidence of parents and children, and to help families to genuinely enjoy each other's company.
